The “UNSUNG HERO” Of Quilters at Playhouse
While the gals who made the quilts for Quilters and organized the show are getting all the recognition and glory, the one person who deserves the most credit for really bringing the show stopping Legacy quilt to life is Connie Kleinschmidt. Even though Connie was a new member in 2008 and had only been to a few meetings, she jumped right in and volunteered to quilt the giant 13’ Legacy quilt on her long arm,and donated all her time. Her name was mentioned many times to the OWH reporter, he failed to include her name in his article. Next time she is at a meeting, go up and introduce yourself and tell her THANKS for an outstanding job.....and then follow her lead and volunteer to do something. You don’t have to be a long time member of the guild to put your talents to use.
