Quilts in the Garden...fiber art in bloom at Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical Center, November 10-13, 2011

The show will showcase botanical themed quilts by area quilters. IQSC will also display rarely seen quilts from their fantastic collection.  New to the show is an exclusive fiber art exhibit featuring Robert Hillestad, Mary Zicafoose, Jay Rich and Agneta Gaines.

Call for quilts:  Quilts must be of a botanical theme which includes florals, landscapes, wildlife if in a botanical setting, trees, leaves, mountains, etc. If in doubt, please submit your quilt. There is no restriction on when the quilt was made or if it has been in previous quilt shows(other than Quilts in the Garden show). If you own the quilt you may submit it. Quilts will be reviewed and selected by the Quilts in the Garden committee and you will be notified by October 15, if your quilt is selected.

The entry form is also online at http://www.lauritzengardens.org/Visit/Events_and_Exhibits/Quilts_in_the_Garden/Entry_Forms/

Entry form with a photograph of your quilt must be received no later than October 1, 2011.

Consignment Sales: The popular consignment area is looking for items to sell to visitors. If you are interested in selling items that you have made, vintage quilts  or any other fiber related items we are offering a consignment sales area at the show. A percentage of the sales price(25%) is a donation to the botanical gardens. Items should be a good quality and workmanship and valued at no less than $40. Multiple items can be submitted. Any unsold items will be returned to you at the end of the show on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Contact Kayla @ 402-346-4002 or Anne@

Donations: We are also accepting donations of items for the consignment shop. Donations will be acknowledged by a letter and is a tax deductible contribution to the garden to help with their educational programs.
